This picture has been hanging around our house for years.

My husband acquired it before we ever met.

It's one of his all time favorite quotes, and he reminds me quite often that he doesn't much like people. Well, he didn't much like dogs either until he met me, but that's a whole other story.

Ordinarily, I balk at his taste in home decor, but there is something about this picture that draws me in. It exudes a kind of Clint Eastwood, don't mess with me, make my day kind of attitude.

I like it.

I like the dog in the picture too.

It reminds me of a simple life.

The kind of life where small pleasures are the ultimate treasures.

My friend Gail just called me out of the blue and asked me to meet her for lunch. This is a wonderful surprise because she lives in another town about an hour and a half away. Gail makes me smile because at the age of 70, she still loves to pose for the camera, and I mean she really hams it up. Confidence oozes out of her. She is independent and is crazy about fashion and shoes. She dances with the Silver Tappers, a group of dancers in Pahrump, NV who put on shows at various events.

A colleague of hers nicknamed her "Old Buzzard", but I think she's more like a "Designer Chick"

Sometimes a good quote can alter the direction of one's journey. Paradigm shifts, inspiration, motivation, and enlightenment are all a part of that journey. The more I read, the more I grow. I'm starting this blog because I want to share the quotes and other sayings that have uplifted me, made me laugh or pissed me off. Mostly, it will be all positive but not in a controlled, structured way. This is my embarkment to personal development. This is what feeds my soul.
