My two favorite magazines are completely opposite in nature. The first, is Woman's World, a very thin magazine for women that is loaded with tons of useful information on food, health, money, relationships, etc. It's simple and to the point. All of the bits of information are given without long, drawn out, wordy paragraphs. Straight to the point without all the mumble jumble. You don't have to invest a lot of time reading about one subject. I learn more from this little magazine on food and health than I do anywhere else.
Success Magazine is my other favorite magazine. I have been a subscriber to this magazine for quite awhile now. I think it is the best magazine for anyone who is interested in personal development, growing confidence, and building successful relationships, and businesses. It is packed with inspiring stories of real people who have obtained success. It features some of the most acclaimed motivational speakers, and leaders of our time. I refer to this magazine quite often for ideas, inspiration and motivation. It is one of many tools I use as a guide to help me along my journey of personal growth.
Today's noteworthy quotables come from my two favorite magazines.
Woman's World: Being kind and thoughtful has its advantages:
a survey of employers finds that conscientiousness and politeness are five times more likely to impress your boss than your intelligence or skills! "Things like returning calls promptly, sending thank-you notes and greeting co-workers every morning can go a long way in your success." David Niven, Ph.D author of The 100 Simple Secrets of Successful People.
Success Magazine: "Whatever good things we build end up building us." ~Jim Rohn
What tools do you use for your personal development? What are you reading, doing, participating in that feeds your passion and helps you grow?

A Simple Solution For Rejuvination
Red Rock Canyon; Las Vegas, NV
Drive yourself away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Enjoy the solitude and the quietness of being alone. (Well, almost alone)
Find a place to pull over and breathe in the air. Take a walk and appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.
Don't you feel better already?
The mark of a successful man is one that has spent an entire day on the bank of a river without feeling guilty about it. ~Author Unknown

What have you learned today?
The Wisest Mind Has Something Yet To Learn. ~George Santayana~
Yesterday, I browsed Oprah.com and I learned how to make an on-line dream board. Most of us know about vision boards in regard to The Law Of Attraction. The idea is to paint, draw, write, or cut out photos and/or words of things that represent your goals and your dreams and then put them on a bulletin board or in a box. You're supposed to look at it often as a reminder of where you want to go. It's supposed to be a motivator of sorts, an inspiration to make your dreams come true.
The on-line version is the same thing. You can look through a catalog of photos from Oprah's web site, or you can upload your own photos. You can rearrange and resize the pictures, add text and change font size and colors.
I had a lot of fun putting my dream board together. The only drawback is that you cannot copy it or move it to your own file. I was hoping to post it to my blog, but it won't allow you to do that.
I think I have just been inspired to create my own dream board through my own means. I'll post on here if it turns out.

Manly Man
My husband acquired it before we ever met.
It's one of his all time favorite quotes, and he reminds me quite often that he doesn't much like people. Well, he didn't much like dogs either until he met me, but that's a whole other story.
Ordinarily, I balk at his taste in home decor, but there is something about this picture that draws me in. It exudes a kind of Clint Eastwood, don't mess with me, make my day kind of attitude.
I like it.
I like the dog in the picture too.
It reminds me of a simple life.
The kind of life where small pleasures are the ultimate treasures.
"I'm the dullest tool in the shed" ~ My husband J
You see, my husband likes it when people underestimate him. It gives him the upper hand.

On Friendship
"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."- Anais Nin
My friend Gail just called me out of the blue and asked me to meet her for lunch. This is a wonderful surprise because she lives in another town about an hour and a half away. Gail makes me smile because at the age of 70, she still loves to pose for the camera, and I mean she really hams it up. Confidence oozes out of her. She is independent and is crazy about fashion and shoes. She dances with the Silver Tappers, a group of dancers in Pahrump, NV who put on shows at various events.
A colleague of hers nicknamed her "Old Buzzard", but I think she's more like a "Designer Chick"
She's one hot mama!

What does your soul's garden grow?
A good quote can spark an explosion of creativity and ideas to burst forth. ~JarieLyn~
Sometimes a good quote can alter the direction of one's journey. Paradigm shifts, inspiration, motivation, and enlightenment are all a part of that journey. The more I read, the more I grow. I'm starting this blog because I want to share the quotes and other sayings that have uplifted me, made me laugh or pissed me off. Mostly, it will be all positive but not in a controlled, structured way. This is my embarkment to personal development. This is what feeds my soul. Maybe by feeding my own soul, I'll be watering yours as well. What does your soul's garden grow?
I intend to post a lot of original quotes from friends, family and myself, as well as known published quotes from famous people. Whatever moves me in the moment....... I will allow the universe to speak to me, whatever I post will be meant for someone who needs to hear those words. So, if you happened upon my site, you are meant to be here for a reason.
Today's quote is from one of my best friends. I've known her for about 28 years. Her trademark signature at the end of every e-mail is her own original quote.
She says......
You have a magnificent mind, change it often. ~ Cindy Gregory
